Most people who follow the horse races love the Spring Carnival and are tempted to buy into a syndicate with the expectation that their horse will turn them into an instant millionaire and bring 'A' list celebrity status. However this is not the case with most nags costing their owners more of their 'hard earned' than whats expected and only a lucky few experiance the thrill of Group 1 glory. Hello to all the lucky blokes who took the offer up of getting into Roman Arch a few years ago before it won the Australia Cup at the handsome odds of $70 to one.
This year OBGFC faithful will be given the opportunity to buy a share in a Racehorse....whoops wait a minute, greyhound, yes thats right, we are getting our hands on one of the finest 'dishies' available in the Southern Hemisphere. There is no limit to the amount of people that can participate in the syndicate but naturally the more the merrier.
The will be a one off payment ($100.00 for 12 months) for your share in the greyhound with no on-going fees. Subscriptions will be renewed annually. Naming of the greyhound will be thrown out to the OBGFC faithful via the club Facebook site which can be found by searching for 'Old Brighton Grammarians Football Club'. Feel free to join if you havent already.
More details to follow as they come to hand but the fortune cookie I had at Chinese last night read 'a four legged creature will bring you and a lot of friends great pleasure in 2010' Now if thats not a good omen I dont know what is.
