THE COMMITTEE

Rob Jakobi - President

Rob joined the OBGFC committee in 2007 and has served as Treasurer for the past three years.

As President in 2010, Rob is committed to strengthening OBGFC’s reputation as a well managed, financially sound and highly competitive football club.

When not absorbed by OBGFC business, Rob heads up the Learning & Development program at Toyota Australia.

 

Jim Olliver - Vic President / Head of Football

Jim joined the Committee in November 2006 and served as President from 2008 - 2009.

Jim had three boys at BGS. Adam, James and Scott. Adam Captained the 1992 BGS 1st XVIII Premiership
Side and was Vice Captain of the BGS ‘Team of the Century’. James played 1st XVIII from Year 10 and Scott
was Vice Captain of the BGS 1st XVIII in 2004 and won the best & fairest in that year.

Jim is the son of Arthur Olliver Bulldog Captain / Coach, Hall of Fame Member, and member of the Bulldogs
‘Team of the Century’.

Jim was a director of the Western Bulldogs for 13 Years and is a Life Member. His portfolio’s included Football,
Business / Marketing, Social and Gaming Facilities.

Jim has been involved in Hotels / Hospitality most of his working life. His current portfolios at OBGFC are
Football, Mentoring / Player Welfare, Marketing & the Clubroom Redevelopment.

John Geddes - Vice President / Football Operations

John joined the OBGFC in 2005 when his son Jack commenced playing in the Under 19’s. He joined the
Committee in 2006 and was appointed co Vice President in November 2008. In 2007 & 2008 he assisted with the Reserves Coaching panel and managed the club Events/Social Calendar. In Season 2009 Jack has been appointed the as Clubs Football Manager where he will oversee and manage all football related issues for all 4 teams.

John’s business life for the past 25years has been spent in Advertising. Currently with Wilson Everard
Advertising. During this time he has worked in senior roles with some of Australia's leading advertising
agencies such as McCann Erickson, The Campaign Palace, JWT and Y&R. He has handled clients in
both Brand and Retail areas such as Nissan, Honda, NEC, adidas, Sportsgirl, Target, Drummond Golf,
both Safeway and Coles Supermarkets, Holeproof and Tabcorp.

Cameron McKimm – Marketing / Website

Cam played 122 games for Old Brighton has has served on the Committee since retiring from playing in 2007.

Cam has been involved in Recruiting, Marketing and operating the club website.

Andrew Mullett – Football Administration / VAFA Delegate

Fish joined OBGFC from school in 1969 and played until 1973, finishing second to Jim Kemp in the B&F
of that year. He spent 1974 - 76 as Captain/Coach of Corryong F.C in the Upper Murray League, before
returning to South Rd and playing until 1981, the last two years as Capt/Coach of the Reserves. He retired
to accept the Senior Coaching position in March, 1982, when Bill Browne was presented with triplets during
pre-season. He has been at the Club ever since in a range of roles, including Chairman of Selectors,
Registration Secretary, Team Manager, Committeeman, Timekeeper, Press Correspondent, Keeper of
Votes, Jumpers, Shorts and Socks, Sweeper of Change Rooms and Purveyor of Rumours and Scandal via
alter-ego, The Benchwarmer.

This season, he’s looking forward to watching the footy from the Time-Keeper's perch, fending off lawsuits
on The Benchwarmer, representing the club at VAFA Delegates' Meetings and working on the Committee
to keep the boys equipped and ready to go. Fish works as an English Teacher at Parkdale Secondary College
where he’s reached dinosaur status, so he needs his footy fix more than ever, and he’s hoping the boys can
repeat last year's form...... for them!

Jess Dooley -

Jess has been a passionate server to the club since beginning his career in 2000 and joins the committee for the 2010 season. Jess has taken on numerous thankless tasks such as organising the 3rd XVII, functions and footy trips.

We look forward to Jess's contribution in season 2010 and onwards.

Ian Mullett - Football Administration


Ian Mullett is a past president of the OBGFC and more famously the brother of Andrew “Benchwarmer” Mullett. Ian, having played for the club from 1970 to 1982 (with a grand total of 213 games) and filled almost every position on offer at the club in the past, brings a wealth of experience.  He will be a great asset to the club. Ian will be sharing the Football Administration portfolio with Andrew Mullet.
