Vale | Peter Wood

It’s with great sadness that the Club announces the recent passing of Peter Wood.

Peter was an active playing member during the 1970s playing 145 games. He captained the

Reserves Team 1974 and was Captain Coach in 1975.

He was part of the first ever Premiership for the OBGFC when the Reserves beat

Elsternwick in their 1976 Grand Final.

Peter also played when the Reserves side created a Club record by defeating National

Bank: OBGFC 29:21 – 195 to National Bank 2:4 – 16!!

Peter was very successful in business and continued being a great supporter of the Club.

Peter is pictured below centre of the front row of the 1976 reserves premiership team.
