Back-to-back premierships for Tonner women!

Our girls have secured a back-to-back win in the Women’s Premier B Premiership, defeating Old Melburnians by 23 points at Coburg City Oval on Sunday. Despite losing the toss and OM’s kicking with a strong breeze, our team quickly adapted, trailing by only a point at quarter-time after a late goal from Tiger Doultree.

A dominant second quarter gave us a solid lead, which we extended in the third with relentless defense and pressure. A four-goal final quarter sealed the win, although OM’s added a few consolation goals in the dying minutes.

Scout Howden was named Best on Ground after kicking three goals, with Siena Courtney (2 goals) and several others, including Jas Tate, Katie Grant, Giselle Buckley, Annie Grant, and Sophie Grant, all earning nominations for best players.

Coach Andrew praised the team’s resilience throughout the season and their growth since last year’s flag. He commended the leadership group and encouraged the girls to savor their victory.

Celebrations at BBO were legendary, with some surprise challenges for Best Off Ground! Mad Monday saw the team in brilliant costumes, enjoying a long lunch and heartfelt speeches—a perfect way to cap off another victorious season.

Best Players:
Scout Howden, Jasmine Tait, Katie Grant, Giselle Buckley, Annie Grant, Sophie Grant
